The University of Suffolk was established in 2016 to transform the provision of higher education in Suffolk and beyond. We believe that education is for all, and the transformative power of higher education should be accessible, driving social equality and mobility, and acting as a catalyst for change. We are committed to putting students at the centre of our thinking.
We serve a county with substantial areas of low participation in higher education so our beneficiaries are predominantly individuals from Suffolk, who may not have had access to higher education without us. The county of Suffolk is predominantly a low skill, low wage, dispersed rural community, leading to barriers for people to gain higher education and excellent employment. We are breaking down these barriers. As such, our mission is to transform lives and our region, through education, training, research, business, and community engagement.
